Features

Evidence, not guesses.

Plain-word search

Brand names, generics and common typos are looked up in NIH RxNorm, and Pharvel shows you which medicine it recognised.

Straight from the label

Each finding is a passage from the FDA label, with the source and date shown.

Every pair checked

Up to six medicines at once, every pairing checked — and you are told about any that could not be.

Why, not just what

FDA's enzyme and transporter table explains the mechanism, and FDA adverse-event reports show what people actually reported.

FAQ

Good questions.

Is this medical advice?

No. Pharvel shows what drug labels say. It can't know your doses, conditions or other treatments. Ask a pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Where does the information come from?

Drug names come from NIH RxNorm. Label text comes from openFDA, and each finding links to the DailyMed label it was quoted from.

What if it finds nothing for a pair?

That only means the labels checked don't mention it. It does not prove the combination is safe.

Does it cost anything?

Not right now. It's free to use.
